This page was long pending, but we’ve finally written our “About Us” for you — the one we knew would come investigating. A story is best told in person, but that shouldn’t stop us from giving it a shot. So here we go.
GymApe is a brand built on two simple beliefs:
- Great products shouldn’t cost a fortune.
- Great products should be accessible to everyone.
During 2023–24, India saw a sudden surge of interest in fitness and wellness. With cheap internet came exposure to CrossFit, bro-splits, strength training, conditioning, sports training, yoga, meditation, and Pilates — activities no longer restricted to a select few. People from every corner of the country were getting active.
With that came a surge in demand for the kind of technology-led performance wear and gear people were using across the globe. Everyone was hunting for it — in marketplaces, malls, showrooms, and online stores.
We, the first team members of GymApe, weren’t any different. We were chasing the same activities and hunting for the same best-in-class products. But digging deeper, we realized two things:
- The best products were available only in big showrooms at inflated prices (belief 1, broken).
- Some products people used globally simply weren’t available in India at all — because India wasn’t treated as a priority market for high-end launches (belief 2, broken).
We knew our country was ready for what the rest of the world already had. So GymApe was born, out of Mumbai, India.
How we put our beliefs into practice:
- We source the best fabrics from across the globe, spending significantly more on raw materials than typical Indian brands — resulting in performance wear and athleisure that’s genuinely comfortable.
- We use technology to make our products high-performing, durable, and distinct.
- We work with coaches and trainers across India to test, refine, and improve our products.
- We ship directly from our production unit to your doorstep, cutting out middlemen who inflate prices.
- We run a constant feedback loop with our customers to keep improving and building what you actually want — world-class products, made in India.
We spend our resources on raw materials and technology, not on posh mall rentals or celebrity endorsements — because we can’t bring the showroom experience home to you, but we can bring you the best product in the market at the right price, delivered straight to your door.
